Northampton put up an impressive performance against League Two leaders Yeovil at Huish and fully deserved the point they secured courtesy of a 79th minute goal from Eric Sabin.
Yeovil had taken an early lead and produced some excellent stuff in the first half. But they failed to get the second goal that would have strengthened their position at the top of the table and the Cobblers, always eager to attack, battled back well.
Yeovil's cause was not helped by two first half injuries. Phil Jevons, who had put them ahead with his eighth goal of the season, had to go off with a leg injury and Gavin Williams, their talented mid-field playmaker, suffered an ankle injury.
The Jevons' goal was a classic although, prior to that, Northampton had troubled Yeovil with three corners in the first four minutes, all cleared with some measure of difficulty.
As Yeovil began to produce good football, the reward came on 14 minutes. Paul Terry started the move and a clever back heel from Latvian international Andrejs Stolcers left the ball neatly for Jevons to fire in.
In the Northampton fight-back Josh Low went close twice, first bringing a great save from Chris Wield and then being robbed by a last ditch tackle from Roy O'Brien.
In the second half, play went from end to end with chances at both ends, although Yeovil was saved on two more occasions by superb goalkeeping. Weale first kept out Scott McGleish and, from the subsequent corner, another good save denied Christopher Willmott.
But the deserved equaliser came when Low got down the right and provided the cross for Sabin to tap in.
