Dagenham claimed their first ever victory over Northampton as Matt McClure's first half brace secured a 2-1 win at Sixfields.
The Cobblers began on top with Alfie Potter and Lawson D'Ath both going close before Marc Richards headed home Nicky Adams' enticing cross, his fifth of the season giving the home side a deserved lead.
But the game was then turned on its head as Dagenham punished Northampton for two individual errors.
First, Richards lost the ball on halfway and Dagenham broke with McClure left unmarked at the back post to head in Ashley Hemmings' cross, before a disastrous mix-up between Rod McDonald and goalkeeper Adam Smith allowed McClure to tap into an empty net and put Dagenham into a half-time lead.
The second half began in a similar vein with Smith almost single-handedly keeping Northampton in the game as he first denied Christian Doidge before tipping Hemmings' fierce effort just wide.
Northampton went close through Sam Hoskins' long-range effort but Dagenham remained the side likelier to add to their lead with Ryan Cresswell hooking Ayo Obileye's header off the line.
Though the Cobblers through everything forward, Dagenham held on for their first three points of the season and first win over Northampton in 11 attempts.
