The first was a sweet finish from an acute angle following a terrible error from keeper McKinney after 15 minutes. Town had already created the early chances with McGregor and One going close, so it was no surprise when the deadlock was broke.

Loan man Armand One opened his Cobblers scoring account on 23 minutes, heading in from close range following a stunning cross from Gabbiadini.
The Cobblers continued to dominate and create chances, but handed Colchester a lifelife in the 36th minute. Ian Sampson turned a cross into his own net at the near post. This was the third own goal scored by a Cobblers player against the U's in the last three meetings. Sammo scored at Sixifields last season and Richard Hope was the culprit in the corresponding fixture at Layer Road.
Gabbiadini restored the two goal advantage on half time, heading in from close range following a flick on from Paul McGregor.
Gabbiadini completed his first Cobblers hatrick on the hour mark with a clinical finish following good hold up play from One. Moments before McGregor smashed a shot against the crossbar, following another good lay off from One.
Town played out the final third of the game, shutting up shop as the points had been sealed.
NTFConline View
A fantastic performance and there was only one winner from the start. NTFC V CUFC alway seem to produce plenty of action and entertainiment, this proved to be no exception.
NTFConline Man of the Match
Marco Gabbiadini - goes without saying, a hat-trick and a classy performance.
Ref Watch
Mr Cain was ok, made a few unusual decisions throughout the night with mystery free kicks all round, but much better than some of the clowns we've had in recent weeks.
Again a massive disappointment was the low crowd of just over 3500. Hopefully the public will see the score and get along to the next home game. The club needs you now!!!!
