Cobblers 0-0 Huddersfield Town

Kevan Braoadhurst's side overcame a team selection crisis to chalk up a point against the Terriers, Daryl Burgess partnered Jerry Gill in the centre of defence, whilst Armand One made his full league debut in place of Jamie Forrester.

Goal less draws don't come very often at Sixifields, this being the first for 18 months against Peterborough in 2001. At half time a 0-0 wouldn't have been a surprise, as both teams created very little between themsleves and fans sturggled to keep an interest.

The second half was much better, Town came out the strongest and Paul McGregor created the first chance, but it was blocked by Bevan. McGregor and the impressive Paul Harsley linked well but McGregor shot over moments later.

On the hour veteran Eddie Younds forced a save from Lee Harper following a scramble and Stead and Irons forced the Cobblers stopper to make two good saves moments later.

In the 72nd Minute Marco Gabbiadini almost headed Chris Carruthers' cross over keeper Bevan but the Hudderfield number 1 gathered it a full stretch.

In the final minute Schofield sneaked in for the visitors but Paul Rickers, on his home debut, put in a fantastic tackle to deny the shot.

NTFConline Verdict
A well earned point for Town, shame it wasn't all three. The biggest disappointment of the day was the low crowd of just over 4500. After the club's appeal, so few turned up. Do people really not care????
