Northampton Town travel to face Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon, the first of six fixtures that will decide whether the Cobblers proud history of Football League membership comes to an end this season.
Just two weeks ago the game was shaping up to be a genuine 'six-pointer' but a four-match unbeaten run and crucial win at Exeter on Saturday means James Beattie's side are now 14th in the table and nine points above their weekend opponents.
"The players will surprise a lot of people but they don't surprise me," Beattie told BBC Radio Lancashire after the game at Exeter.
"They never know when to lie down and they're a tremendous bunch. It makes me very proud to be their manager."
Northampton face the two teams currently above them in the table, Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth, over the Easter period but know they simply have to take points from the two fixtures prior to that.
Midfielder Darren Carter will be key to that aim after some good individual performances in March saw him nominated for League Two's Player of the Month award.
"To win it would be bittersweet given the position we're in," he admitted.
