Town Up For The Cup

It's normally a goalfest when the sides meet, the U's winning 4-2 at Sixfields last months in the LDV Vans Trophy last month, after Town had lead 2-0.

Last seasons league meeting produced a 3-3 draw at the Abbey Stadium, Jamie Forrester recuing a point with Town coming from 1-3 down. The return fixture at Sixfields saw a 2-2 draw, John Hodge stuck in injury time to rescue town this time.

Cambridge have lifted their all ticket restriction and supporters can now pay on the gate for the tie, which promises to bring in a big crowd. Aroud 1500 Cobblers fans are expected to make the short jounrey eastwards, hopefully to see the team secure a 3rd round tie.
