Cambridge United have been confirmed as relegated for over a fortnight now and since then have failed to win a match. In the last 6 games the U's have actually only managed to win once, a game at Tranmere.
Cobblers have now ensured safety by default following the win at Wycombe and all the opposition in the drop zone all slipping up since. The game being dubbed as ‘Claret Day III' will now be in effect a friendly with fans knowing the result will have no real bearing on the league and everyone who turns up can just hope for a great game of football rather than watch the side try and grind out a result.

If the last meeting between the two sides at the Abbey Stadium is anything to go by then the fans will be in for a real treat. The game, a 6 goal thriller which ended 3-3 saw the Cobblers claw their way back after being 3-1 down at half time. The game was also Kevan Broadhurst's first game after signing a contract with the Cobblers, but was the start of a very poor run leaving the Town firmly rooted at the foot of the table.
