Remaining fixtures:
Wycombe Wanderers (H) - 6th April
Last 6 games
Nationwide League Division Two | Pld | W | D | L | F | A | Pts |
Wycombe Wanderers | 6 | 2 | 1 | 3 | 6 | 8 | 7 |
Out of the last 3 sides the Cobblers will have to face, Wycombe have the most to play for. A slim chance of reaching the playoffs is all the Chairboys can wish for but will be highly unlikely they will achieve their goal and a top 10 finish will be the best they can ask for.
Wigan Athletic (A) – 13th April
Last 6 games
Nationwide League Division Two | Pld | W | D | L | F | A | Pts |
Wigan Athletic | 6 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 9 | 6 | 10 |
With Wigan looking like finishing in mid-table, safe from relegation and highly unlikely to mass enough points to reach the playoff positions, their season seems to be at an end already. The JJB is always a tough place to go and take points from however and the Cobblers might have to try and grind out another draw like at Reading.
Cambridge United (H) – 20th April
Last 7 games
Nationwide League Division Two | Pld | W | D | L | F | A | Pts |
Cambridge United | 7 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 10 | 16 | 5 |
Cambridge will worry Cobblers fans most because a team that has nothing left to play for usually try out fringe players fired up for the occasion. The U's proved they can cause a shock in hammering Chesterfield 4-1. Hopefully Northampton wont become the first away scalp of the season.
