Striker Rico moves to Dale on loan.

To improve the striker’s match fitness, the Cobblers have allowed Marc Richards to join
Rochdale on loan.
Calderwood defended his actions of loaning a player to another club who are also looking for a ‘play-off’ spot (Rochdale are currently 2 points behind the Cobblers). “We currently have strong competition in the forward line with Scott McGleish, Eric Sabin, Danny Crow, Lee Barnard and of course Andy Kirk is back with us after this weekend. To be honest Marc would not have started for us this weekend and he really needs regular competitive football. The loan is with the purpose to increasing his match fitness”.
“The plan is that Marc will return to us after a month, fully match fit to play a big part in the last 2 or 3 weeks of the regular season, and possibly the play-offs after that. We know that Rochdale are just behind us in the table and some people might ask why we are letting a striker join a team who are competing with us, but there is no point looking down and we have to look at the teams above us”.
I wonder whether he will do as most other strikers have done once they have moved to other clubs from Sixfields, score?!
