In-form Northampton Town face a stern test of their play-off ambitions on Saturday afternoon as they meet Shrewsbury Town at Greenhous Meadow. Despite defeat at Tranmere last weekend, the Shrews lie second in the League Two table, six points clear of the play-off places.
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder spoke earlier in the week of a tough test against a side with an excellent home record but promised that his team would be positive in the light of their recent good form and not look to 'shut up shop.'
Experienced skipper Liam Lawrence is set to miss out for the hosts after suffering a leg injury in the defeat at Tranmere. Lawrence was sent off in the corresponding fixture at Sixfields earlier in the season which ended in a 1-1 draw, Emile Sinclair netting late on for Northampton.
Update: Town pulled off another impressive win, Hackett and Byrom sending them into a two-goal lead before Demetriou's late goal sparked a concerted effort for an equaliser from the hosts.
The Cobblers survived and are now just six points off a play-off spot. They are next in action on Tuesday night when Portsmouth visit Sixfields.
