Sammo, now 33 and just completed his testimonial season has signed a new 2 year contract after initally stalling on the deal. It is believed that the sticking point was because the club had only offered a 12 month contract to begin with but the Cobblers longest serving player has now ensured better terms.
Sammo who has made a staggering 385 appearances for the Town has become a fans favorite in the heart of the Cobblers defence.
Only four more players are undecided on signing new contracts. Chris Hargreaves, James Hunt, Roy Hunter and Keith Welch are expected to make a decision within the next fortnight.
