"In this league you've got to win your home games and that was definitely two points dropped, especially after we started the game so brightly," said Stuart Gray.
"Andy Kirk has scored a great goal but then missed an even better chance to put us in a good position. We lost our way after that and began to complicate things. We kept giving the ball away and that put too much pressure on the defence.
"We worked their keeper and created plenty of chances but we were unable to convert them. But once we get playing as a team, I'm confident we will do well."
Meanwhile, Swindon boss Paul Sturrock was delighted with the way his side performed amidst a background of takeover talk at the County Ground.
He said: "I can't complain about the result, it was a fair one, but a strange game.
"The penalty was unfortunate for their player but we put plenty of crosses into the box and if you keep doing that there's always a chance of getting a penalty.
"Considering all that is going on behind the scenes involving talk of takeovers, I'm delighted with the way the players have responded. But we're still weak in certain areas and I need to strengthen the team."
