Positive Signs For Cobblers Boss

Wilder felt that the Cobblers were worth a bit more than a 2-0 reverse at Fleetwood on Saturday as two goals from Gareth Evans secured three points for the promotion-chasing side from Lancashire.

"There wasn't a lot in that game, particularly second half," said Wilder, whose side now have a week to prepare for the visit of Hartlepool to Sixfields next Saturday.

"They've had a couple of chances on the break. But we were well in it and we needed to be a touch better in the final third. It was a little closer than the scoreline suggested."

While Wilder defended his decision not to start with striker Emile Sinclair after his two goals against Torquay, Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander felt the visitors never really posed a threat to his side.

"We deserved to win the game and we could have potentially scored a couple more," he told his club's official website.
