17-year-old Brad Walker netted a superb second-half equaliser to keep Hartlepool in touch with the play-off places ahead of their trip to Sixfields to face the rock-bottom Cobblers.
Cooper, quoted in the Hartlepool Mail, said: "All we have said on every away trip is can we go home with something?
"I can’t be disappointed after that performance, I am very proud of the efforts that the boys put in."
Northampton were already at the foot of the League Two table when they travelled to the North East in November for a game which Hartlepool won comfortably.
'We got what we deserved,' admitted then-boss Aidy Boothroyd after the game.
