Both Northampton Town and Plymouth Argyle have taken 6 points from a possible 9 at the beginning of the new season but it is the visitors who come into the game on the back of a positive midweek result.
They defeated Carlisle United 4-1 at Home Park on Tuesday night, a result which will have pleased the vast majority of the 6,071 crowd although not the 169 away supporters who were faced with a 779-mile round trip.
It was all change for Plymouth during the summer as they appointed Derek Adams as manager in place of John Sheridan despite reaching the play-offs last season.
Adams had added the likes of Gregg Wylde and Jake Jervis to his squad, linking up with striker Jervis (scorer of two goals against Carlisle) after they worked together at Ross County and using his Scottish links to land former Rangers winger Wylde.
Wylde impressed in the opening games of the season but was taken off at half-time against Carlisle as Adams adapted his 4-2-3-1 formation to match the visitors' 3-5-2.
Quoted in the Plymouth Herald, Adams said: "It was one of those things. Somebody had to be sacrificed, and he was the one sacrificed.
"It was a shame for him because he had been in the game and given us that good width on the left hand side."
The two sides meet for the 57th time and both have strong records on their respective home patches with Town winning 17 and drawing 8 of the 29 games played in Northampton although Plymouth triumphed 3-2 in last season's corresponding fixture at a time when the Cobblers were falling worringly down the League Two table.
Update: Ahead of the game, Northampton have confirmed the loan signing of Leicester City midfielder Ryan Watson for a second spell with the Cobblers.
