Kemar Roofe is a major doubt for Oxford's clash against Sky Bet League Two leaders Northampton.
The 19-goal striker suffered a groin injury in Saturday's 4-2 win against Morecambe.
Roofe and a couple of other unnamed players are struggling and head coach Michael Appleton admitted he has concerns.
He told the Oxford Mail: "We've got a couple of knocks and I think it's going to be 50/50 whether they're going to be available for tomorrow. We'll give them as long as we possibly can and see where they get to. We're not going to put the player at risk at all."
Lawson D'Ath is in contention to start for Northampton after making his comeback from the bench in Saturday's 4-0 win at Leyton Orient.
The midfielder had been struggling with a groin problem but played 26 minutes of the victory which saw the Cobblers remain five points clear at the top.
Northampton have won seven straight games to go clear in the division and boss Chris Wilder believes they are relishing the spotlight, ahead of a return to his former club.
"We've had pressure on us all season and we continue to thrive on it," he told the Northampton Chronicle.
