Michael Appleton's side travel to Sixfields on Tuesday night for a League Two clash with Northampton and will do so in better spirits after goals from Tyrone Potter and Alfie Potter moved them up to 20th in the table.
Appleton will have been pleased with the response to a 5-1 defeat at Cambridge United a week earlier and it is his side's away form that has caused them real problems to date this season.
Oxford have taken just two points from six games on the road to date and Chris Wilder will be looking for his Northampton players to get back to winning ways after successive defeats.
Saturday's reverse at Cheltenham was one that could have been avoided according to the Cobblers boss who said afterwards: "This is a game we should have won, we had the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half and we’ve chucked it away."
