Having sounded the alarm about his side's prospects for the rest of the season after their nosedive down the League Two table, Wilder was quick off the mark when the transfer window opened to make a trio of new signings and allow a number of players to leave Sixfields.
He has been rewarded with an upturn in fortunes over the past couple of weeks, the home draw against Southend United followed up by an excellent victory at Exeter City and the focus now seems to be on moving up the league rather than simply scrapping to avoid the drop.
"I've brought players to this club that are going to take the club forward in my time here," said Wilder. "I'll back my judgement and you do get judged on your signings."
The decision to part company with some well-liked players such as Kelvin Langmead may have been a tough one but Wilder will have seen all too often that it is the manager who usually loses his job when things take a turn for the worse.
