Northampton will check on Zander Diamond before they welcome Portsmouth.
The Scot was stretchered off with 11 minutes to go in Friday's 1-1 draw with Wycombe but manager Chris Wilder says they are hopeful he will be available to keep his place in the side.
With his side now unbeaten in three games Wilder could keep the faith with the same starting line-up but he has the likes of Chris Hackett and Brennan Dickenson pushing for inclusion.
The Cobblers are only in the League Two relegation zone on goal difference but are unquestionably the form team in the battle for survival.
Ben Chorley must wait to see if he is added to the Portsmouth squad for the trip to Northampton. Pompey skipper Chorley completed a four-match ban in time for Saturday's clash with Bristol Rovers but was not even among the substitutes, although caretaker boss Andy Awford says the defender still has a part to play.
Midfielder Wes Fogden was only fit enough for a place on the bench after a knee injury but he came on to score the winner in the 3-2 success and could be promoted back to the starting line-up.Simon Ferry (back), Andy Barcham (thigh) and Ryan Bird (groin) are still out injured
