Chris Hackett returns to contention for Northampton's home clash against Plymouth.
The winger has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury but is now back in the fold and hoping for involvement as the Cobblers look to strengthen their hopes of climbing off the foot of the Sky Bet League Two table.
Versatile defender Gregor Robertson is available to make his debut having this week arrived as a free agent on a short-term deal until the end of the season. However, on-loan duo Matty Blair and Sean McGinty will not be involved having returned to respective parent clubs Fleetwood and Sheffield United
Long-term absentees Kelvin Langmead, Alex Nicholls and Lewis Hornby remain sidelined.
Plymouth will be without goalkeeper Luke McCormick. The former Oxford shotstopper faces a lengthy lay-off after dislocating and fracturing a finger on his left hand in the 1-1 draw with Mansfield on Saturday meaning he is unlikely to feature again this season.
It means Jake Cole, a regular in cup competitions for the Pilgrims this season, will be handed a League Two start against the Cobblers with John Sheridan keen to bring in another goalkeeper to provide cover.
The Pilgrims are 12th in League Two going into this match, 11 points below the play-offs and seven clear of the relegation zone
