Ahead of the FA Cup tie against Grimsby this weekend, Aidy Boothroyd has been boosted by the return of striker Roy O'Donovan from a hernia problem.
His availability offsets the loss of cup-tied loanee Izale McLeod for the game while Chris Hackett is also available after suspension.
Boothroyd has also praised the contribution of on-loan Bradford City midfielder Ricky Ravenhill and is keen to extend a deal for the experienced player into January.
"He gets the job done, does the ugly stuff with last-ditch tackles and he organises one or two others," said the Cobblers boss.
Former Town manager Stuart Gray, meanwhile, led Sheffield Wednesday to a shock win against Championship leaders Leicester City on Tuesday. Gray is in caretaker charge after the sacking of Dave Jones.
