Northampton news round-up

A controversial game at Bradford on Tuesday night has had repercussions for Northampton as the Bantams are set to recall on-loan goalkeeper Matt Duke.

Bradford's first-choice number one Jon McLaughlin was ordered off in a match which ended in a mass brawl which is now being investigated by the FA.

Duke has played a key role in recent weeks as the Cobblers have climbed the League Two table to the brink of safety.

That good run of form has chairman David Cardoza hoping for a good take-up ahead of Friday's deadline for discounted season tickets.

"The fans have been fantastic and their support has really humbled me," he told the official club website.

Michael Jacobs meanwhile will be offered a new contract shortly with the 20-year-old approaching the end of his current deal.

"Then it will be up to him whether he decides to stay and be part of our future or whether he goes somewhere else," said Aidy Boothroyd, quoted in the Chronicle & Echo.

Boothroyd, who is keen to sign Clarke Carlisle on a long-term deal, has allowed Michael Built to join Bedford Town ahead of the expiry of his contract in the summer.
