Following a string of draws and good performances, Sampson must have thought it was not his day after seeing his team go 1-0 down to an Anthony Grant strike in the 57th minute. But his charges responded in the best way possible, with goals from Abdul Osman and Andy Holt turning around the deficit to notch up a first win in five games.
Sampson said: "After four draws on the trot I am delighted to get the win. We've played well in previous games and not got our rewards so there was a little bit of pressure on us.
"The win has been a long time coming but we're unbeaten in five games and we just need a little bit more quality.
"When we went behind the players responded well, which they have done all season and, although the match was very average, it's great to get the three points."
