A close range effort from Marc Richards in the 89th minute gave Northampton Town a deserved win against Exeter City on Saturday afternoon and continued a welcome recent trend of late goals for the Cobblers.
This result moves Town up to 8th place in the early League Two tables after a more than satisfactory opening month of the campaign.
The attendance was 4,053 and the majority of them went home happy after Richards' excellent overhead kick although assistant manager Alan Knill, speaking to the press afterwards, called on his side to show more 'tempo and belief' to be able to put games to bed earlier.
