This is a modern day record and beats the previous record set by Godfrey Ingram of scoring in his first three games in March 1980. Ingram at the time was on loan from Luton.
The record books show Everard Lawrence as scoring five goals in his first five games in 1898, but these were in the Northants League and the F A Cup therefore not the same standard as the present Coca-Cola Football League.
The current record for scoring in consecutive league games goes to Alan Woan who scored a total of seven goals comencing at the end of the 1957-1958 season and the first six games of the following season.
The most recent run was by Jamie Forrester, who netted in five consecutive games between 30 September and 24 October 2000.
