The Hatters are currently 6th in the League Two table, 5 points and a similar number of places above Northampton.
They play their game in hand against a Wycombe Wanderers side who are currently 3rd and looking to put some distance between themselves and the Cobblers weekend conquerors Bury.
Meanwhile, a strong NTFC side took on MK Dons on Monday in a behind closed doors friendly which saw Lewis Hornby get a 20 minute run-out and recent signing Ross Perry play the full game.
"It was a really good work out for us and the sort of game we will be looking to play more often next season," said boss Chris Wilder.
