Harris, who can also play in defence, joined the Cobblers in August 2009 following a successful trial spell and will be hoping to get some game time on Saturday.
He told the club's official website: "It's always good to play with all the guys and once you get in the swing of things you just start kicking on from there and everybody I think is really excited about going and playing on Saturday."
The Cobblers are set to begin the npower League Two campaign with a long trip to face Torquay on August 7, but Harris is simply focusing on getting a good pre-season under his belt.
He added: "It's a long way away right now, we're just concentrating on what we've got to do, (getting) everybody back into shape, getting to know the lads and really just keep putting our head down and working hard."
