Differing opinions part of football's great appeal

Lewis Young was not offered a new deal by the Cobblers while Byron Webster's contract was cancelled by mutual consent but neither player was without a club for long, linking up with former Northampton manager Gary Johnson at Yeovil for a second consecutive season.

Young and Webster won't stay in the memory of Town fans for too long, being part of a team that struggled for form and consistency at the wrong end of League Two for large parts of last season but the fact that they will be playing in League One next season shows that football remains a game of opinions which can differ markedly between those making the decisions on players.

Johnson clearly feels both players will be able to play a part as Yeovil look to maintain their hard-won status in the game's third tier. Meanwhile the new signings that Aidy Boothroyd thinks will contribute to a much better season for Northampton are hard at work in preparation for the new campaign.
