A lack of goals means the Shakers remain firmly in the relegation mix but they gained another important point at Newport County on Tuesday night to stay four clear of the Cobblers.
"Teams aren’t really creating chances against us, which is pleasing," said Flitcroft, quoted in the Manchester Evening News. "That’s eight or nine clean sheets in 15 games so we’ve certainly steadied the ship.
"We have got to respect a point away from home; people are disappointed we have come away from here with a point. We are where we are in the food chain but we are fighting hard, we are fighting tooth and nail to earn our points."
