The fee for the 23 year old forward will be decided at a later date after Stamp decided to leave his club Scarborough against the clubs wishes. The Cobblers were themselves reported to the Football league for approaching Stamp and had a bid turned down for the forward only last week.
Darryn was instumental in the Scarborough attack last season scoring 12 times from 31 appearances. Stamp began his career at Scunthorpe alongside Jamie Forrester and also had brief spells with Halifax and Scarborough before signing on for the Seadogs last June.
The deal becomes Kevan Broadhursts first signing after 8 months following transfer embargo. The Cobblers will be able to increase the squad to 21 in the close season whilst they still owe some money to the PFA and could have it lifted completely if they manage to clear the debt off.
