Could The Cobblers 'Do A Bournemouth'

AFC Bournemouth will be gracing the Premier League in 2015/16, Eddie Howe's stylish, attacking side hosting the biggest names in the English game in front of worldwide television audiences.

And the fact that the Cherries will be doing so in a stadium that holds around 11,700 people and having been in League Two as recently as 2010 gives hope to all smaller clubs that the dream is still alive.

Northampton Town famously rose through the divisions in the 1960's to enjoy their one and only campaign in the top-flight but the more money that has entered the game since looked to have increased the gulf between the haves and the have-nots to such an extent that was no longer possible.

But, although the riches of the Premier League get bigger every year, the financial mismanagement of many clubs means opportunities do exist for smaller, well-run outfits to have a shot at the big-time.

The Championship is probably Northampton's aim in terms of establishing themselves at a higher level but the door remains open for a miracle to happen.
