Goals from Moyo and Mohamed gave the Cobblers an excellent win away to Portsmouth in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday evening.
Taylor had equalised for the hosts in front of 5,853 at Fratton Park and manager Chris Wilder was a very happy man after another good victory on the road for his side.
He told the official NTFC website: "To get a result here you have to work hard and compete, we’ve done that and for 20-25 minutes in the second half we played some excellent football and controlled the game."
The draw for the next round of the competition will be made on Saturday morning with a game against former tenants Coventry City one of the potential ties.
Later in the day Town host Burton Albion at Sixfields with a slightly earlier kick-off time of 2pm. Striker Marc Richards will miss out however and has been ruled out for up to six weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury.
