Northampton Town have taken on the might of Manchester United on four occasions, twice in the Cobblers' single season in the English top flight and twice in the FA Cup.
The most famous meeting was in the cup on 9 February 1970 when George Best returned to action for United after serving a six-week ban. He netted a goal for each week of his suspension and took his frustrations out on the Cobblers at the County Ground in front of over 20,000 spectators.

More recently another FA Cup meeting, in January 2004, made fewer headlines but provided a welcome financial boost to the club as they welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo and co to Sixfields.
"We had to scramble the ball away a few times and it is a credit to Northampton for putting on a performance like that,” said Sir Alex Ferguson after the game.
