Cobblers humbled at Underhill

Leading through Leon McKenzie's goal, Northampton were on the backfoot from the moment Liam Davis was sent off for a foul in the box, Steve Kabba netting the resulting penalty.

Kabba scored again before Basey and Holmes completed a good day for Barnet and a shocker for the Cobblers, who now lie in 22nd place in League Two.

Manager Ian Sampson reserved his ire for Davis after the game and told BBC Radio Northampton: "We got ourselves off to fantastic start then our lack of discipline cost us again.

"If we keep doing that, we're going to be in for a rough season. We've got five red cards this season and that's shocking."

Opposite number Mark Stimson meanwhile said: "We asked them to go and perform like they have done and they did that, and what's pleasing is they got some goals as well. With better finishing or a final ball we could have racked up a few more."
