The Daggers have struggled in front of goal this season but have kept clean sheets in their last three matches, goalless draws against Southend and Oxford United and a narrow victory over Bury.
That may mean that former Cobblers defender Joe Widdowson misses out on a start against his old club having recently joined Dagenham on a deal until the end of the season.
"It wasn’t easy there were two or three other clubs that wanted to sign him, but he seems happy here and fits in very well with our squad," said manager Wayne Burnett after sealing the signing.
Veteran striker Jamie Cureton remains their chief goal threat having netted 8 times to date this season.
Only two points separate the sides although Northampton are five places above their visitors and, in order to keep looking upwards, Chris Wilder will want his side to build on last weekend's victory at Exeter City.
