Northampton Town's inconsistent season continued on Saturday afternoon when the Cobblers were beaten 2-0 away to Southend United at Roots Hall.
It left them with two wins and two defeats from league games played in November.
Although the game turned on the second-half dismissal of goalkeeper Jordan Archer that did not spare some of the visting players from manager Chris Wilder's unhappiness after the final whistle.
Although he told the official club website there had been 'endeavour, enthusiasm and commitment' shown, he added: 'Some players haven’t done themselves justice today which possibly we already knew about but we just have to ride with it until we can change things around.'
The chance to change things around will not come until the January transfer window and before then Northampton face a busy festive period of fixtures.
FA Cup defeat at the hands of Rochdale means a free weekend before the visit of Plymouth Argyle to Sixfields on 13 December is followed by a spell of four games in two weeks, culminating in the return game against Southend on 3 January.
