Burton will be looking to bounce back after successive home defeats, against Cambridge United in the league last Friday and then in the JPT versus Doncaster Rovers in midweek. That made it five losses in six in all competitions but they still lie just one point off the top of League Two and manager Gary Rowett remains confident in his players.
"I've got absolute total belief in this squad," he said in the build-up to the Northampton game although he added: "I think one or two have to step up to the mark and lead a little bit better, otherwise I'm going to have to take some action."
Burton will not be facing the threat of Town's leading scorer Marc Richards after he sustained a hamstring injury at Portsmouth in the JPT but manager Chris Wilder said this week: "When you get injuries you ask other players to step up to the plate, David (Moyo) did that against experienced defenders on Tuesday night."
