Northampton Town are as short as 1/2 to win the League Two title and do not even feature in the betting to be promoted as the bookmakers feel it is a foregone conclusion after Saturday's 4-0 victory at Leyton Orient.
It was not just the result but the manner of the Cobblers' seventh straight league victory, against a side that could easily be in League One themselves next season, that brought home how much confidence Chris Wilder's side are playing with at present.
Home boss Kevin Nolan praised Northampton in the strongest terms afterwards although Wilder, perhaps looking to stop people getting too carried away, told the official club website: "We weren’t at our best in the first half but we understood the challenge today and we knew we would have to dig in at times.
