Bayo Akinfenwa’s first goal since returning to Northampton Town was not enough to save them from defeat at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.
Coming off the bench to replace Bas Savage, Akinfenwa took just six minutes to make his mark and net the Cobblers equaliser but Gary Johnson’s side were undone by Matt Harrold’s winner. The manager however was more concerned by his side's first-half display which he called 'really poor'.
"We have to do better over 90 minutes to win the game."
Two difficult away trips to Aldershot and Bristol Rovers having yielded three points, Northampton return to Sixfields on Saturday to face Cheltenham.
