Saturday's 2-1 victory made it five victories on the spin for the Cobblers and left them just five points from the play-off places as Marc Richards' netted the decisive strike against Morecambe.
Both managers agreed afterwards that Northampton could have been two or three goals to the good after an excellent start but the scores were level at the break after a Morecambe equaliser that Chris Wilder was disappointed to concede.
He added: "It was quite flat in the dressing room at half-time and their goal deflated us a little bit. But we knew we'd have to go again and lift ourselves and that's what we did in the second half."
Hartlepool have shown signs of life under Ronnie Moore in recent weeks but Saturday's narrow defeat at Portsmouth left them nine points clear of safety at the foot of League Two.

Nicky Featherstone came on as substitute and impressed. He may start against the Cobblers.
Reading loanee Aaron Tshibola played against Pompey with a tight groin but is also a doubt for Tuesday night.
