Now in his second spell in charge of the Kent club, Hessenthaler saw his men lose 3-1 at home to Crewe on Saturday to slide down to 22nd in the table.
Chairman Paul Scally has reiterated his backing for the manager, whose side went down 2-1 to Northampton at Sixfields recently and Hessenthaler himself said: "I'm here to do a job, I've signed a three-year deal and I'm going to see those three years out."
Elsewhere in the division, Stockport County have extended the loan deal of Burnley striker Wes Fletcher after an impressive month at Edgeley Park while his Clarets teammate Kevin Long will remain on loan at Accrington Stanley.
