The past few summers have seen big changes made to the Northampton squad and 2014 will be no different as a host of players are either out of contract or have reached the end of their loan deals.
Speaking after the dramatic final-day game against his former club, Wilder said: "The redevelopment (of Sixfields) is coming, we’ve had great support and this is a proper football club that want to give me an opportunity to succeed.
"So I’m really looking forward to working with the chairman in the summer."
Wilder is in a position of some strength having justified his own decision to leave Oxford United earlier in the year and also David Cardoza's faith in his ability to get the Cobblers to League Two safety.
That necessitated another big turnaround of players from the squad that Wilder inherited after plenty of chopping and changing under Aidy Boothroyd and yet more signings when Andy King was in caretaker charge.
In total Town used 43 players throughout the season, second only to Bury with 47 and Portsmouth with 41. All three clubs, interestingly, improved their fortunes dramatically in the final weeks of the season to fight off the dreaded drop.
