The writing looked on the wall in the 51st minute when Ben May scored his 2nd and Scunny's 4th goal to put the home side 4 - 1 up. The first half ended 3 - 1 with Gary Hooper scoring twice for the home side. Scot McGleish had scored Town's first half goal.
But within 6 mins of going 4 - 1 down Northampton had pulled two goals back. Giles Coke and Danny Jackman made the score 4 - 3. The game continued to produced excitement with Town twice hitting the woodwork before Danny Jackman completed the comeback in the 85th minute with a goal straight from a corner.
Even then Jackman popped up on him own goal line to deny the home side a dramatic winner.
