The Lancashire club were rocked recently when manager James Beattie decided to quit having been in charge since May 2013.

"I can never fully repay the faith and backing I got from the players, my staff and of course the fans who always gave me 100%," said the former England international forward.

Caretaker manager Paul Stephenson oversaw a 1-0 victory against AFC Wimbledon last weekend but Stanley were then beaten 3-1 at Oxford United in midweek.

Town, however, will be in high spirits after the 5-1 hammering of Hartlepool on Tuesday night and a 5,000+ crowd should come through the Sixfields gate to see if Chris Wilder’s side can continue their excellent home form.

Update - John Coleman has been confirmed as the new Accrington boss and will begin his second spell in charge immediately.

He previously managed Stanley from 1999 until 2012, leading them from the Northern Premier League First Division into the Football League.
