Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder made a quick start to his summer recruitment with a permanent deal for loanee defender Zander Diamond followed by the signing of striker Marc Richards.
With a number of contract offers also accepted by players already at the club, attention now turns to the five signings that Wilder wants to ensure his squad are ready for next season.
And a quick glance at the list of free agents on the PFA website shows that it is a buyers' market for a well-run club like the Cobblers who should be able to offer an attractive package of wages and contracts at League Two level.
