After re-shaping the team to deal with the task of staying in League One, Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd is now planning his squad for next season with the Cobblers now safe from dropping into the Conference.

They should now be safe, with only 12 points available for the bottom two, Macclesfield Town and Hereford United.

And they will be influenced by a first-hand examination of a Swindon side that, although not particularly impressive against Town, still picked up maximum points in what should be a title-winning campaign.

“Attitude-wise and in terms of our ability to create chances through our organisation at set-pieces, we’re good,” said Boothroyd.

“But again we didn’t make the most of getting the ball on the ground. We actually got the ball into their area and got the ball down and it hasn’t come off.

The atmosphere at the Good Friday game with Oxford United shows that the support is still there given success and committment on the field and credit should be given to the players for what they have done.

It looks like it will be an interesting summer of comings and goings.
